A SMILE CAN TRAVEL MILES

It is an amazing fact that a simple smile can change the course of a person's day then travel on to the next unexpecting stranger to once again accomplish a miraculous change in outlook.... how many smiles can we send across the country today???

More hands on deck!

So....puzzles seem to be the thing these days.....you can tell the weather is chilly and it's not fun to play out of doors - On this particular day a couple more hands joined in the fun! I'm still amazed at the slight of hand!!! In a very short period of time the puzzle pieces found their way to their proper places and voila' ....finished!!!! Whew!!! Thank goodness we had a back up puzzle!  This time one that's a bit more lively - at least with color :)

I was working on my "Simple Things" shawlette and realized I was not having very good luck with the y/o holes - what was suppose to be making a nice lacy rib up the middle of the shawlette looked more like an evil snake - taunting me and my poor knitting skills!!! I don't know why lacy knitting poses such a challenge to me. It is NOT difficult.....it is not a special skill - (unless you just can't do it....like myself) I frogged the entire project. Oh pickles!!!! Double pickles!!!! Part of the problem is my yarn over is right next to the stitch marker - it wants to move every time I knit on the other side of the marker - maybe I have read the pattern wrong. I don't think I have....hmmmmmm.....well - I decided that the color of the yarn was depressing me in any case. So I would recast the yarn into something else and opt for a brighter happier yarn for the shawlette :)  I also changed the schematic of the y/o's - since I had difficulty maintaining them as they were written I decided to move them up a stitch.  I'm finding both these simple changes (yarn color and y/o placement) has done my psyche wonders!!!! I can now move forward and hopefully be seen wearing my beautiful new shawlette in the very near future!!!
