I think I have a mental block when it comes to anything "lace" while knitting...... I had c/o to make the "Willow Cowl" by Amelia Lyon and thought I was going to have the best time knitting my first "lace" thingy ..... half way through I frogged to the c/o stitches.....I didn't give up though....try try try again! and again! and again! I reknit three times before finally frogging completely (with a wimper of defeat) . For some reason my stitches just wouldn't stay even - I always added an extra or subtracted one!!! Which of course throws off all the pretty lacy effects - and the faux cables were all in a disarray..... oh my :( So I opted for a less challenging (at least for me) knitting project..... The "Simple Things" shawlette by Mary-Heather Cogar. Very simple in concept and something I can accomplish without too much angst....or so I thought!!!! My stitch marker just didn't want to remain in the proper place!!!! Half way through I looked and I had created double lace holes and had to knit back in to realign the center rib.....am I going to frog? I think not....the hole (only one) is at a place where it will be easy enough to mask with a stitch later...I NEED to complete this project!!!! I am saving some very special yarn to make another - happy-go-lucky colors that will lay softly and look great for Spring/Summer wear - If I can only figure out why I'm losing the position of the stitch marker!!!! Such a mystery..... .."Willow Cowl" and "Simple Things" can both be found on
